CampREV Summer Camp Registration:  CampREV is a Christian motocross camp taking place July 30 - August 1 at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino. It is an opportunity for kids and adults to learn to ride from Christian professionals. CampRev is designed to provide riders with a firm spiritual, physical, and technical foundation. Women’s Summer Nights:  Women of Crossroads, please join us this summer as we come together - one special night each month - to spend time in worship and teaching, as well as dessert and community with other women. Put these dates on your calendar: July 20, and August 24 from 7-9 pm. The cost is $5 per night. You can sign up in the lobby, or online at www.lifeatcrossroads.info.

Cherish Marriage Conference:  We are excited to present the Cherish Marriage Conference for all who wish to enrich their marriage in fresh ways, regardless of how long you have been together. Come join bestselling author and international speaker, Gary Thomas, as he teaches on his newest book on marriage, Cherish.

The conference will be Friday night and Saturday, September 7-8 and run from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday, and from 8:30 am to 12:45 pm on Saturday. Limited childcare will be provided and will be first come first serve. Save the date to sign up soon for the limited time price of $99 per couple! GO MINISTRY

Go Spotlight:  This month, our Go Partner Spotlight is Comfort Critters, a ministry started by Crossroads members, Randy and Johanna Degroot. Comfort Critters provides new stuffed animals to children in the Emergency Room Department at Henry Mayo Hospital. These critters are used by the hospital to help take away the fear that can come from a visit to the Emergency Room. We will be holding sales to purchase stuffed animals on Sunday, July 15 and Sunday, July 22 in our lobby!

COLLEGE MINISTRY

Our college ministry (Oxford Fellowship) meets Sunday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the church loft. Please follow Oxford Fellowship on Instagram at @oxfordfellowship to see all updates regarding our meeting times and locations.

ELEVATE MINISTRY - Jr. High and High School

Elevate Surf Club: Third Saturday in July, $5 – Surf Club is for students who can surf or who want to learn. We meet outside the church office at 8:00 a.m. We check the surf report, and then head out to the beach with the gnarliest waves! You need to bring $5, a wetsuit, a board, and money for food. If you don’t have a board, we have a few to lend. Surf Club usually returns around 6:30 p.m. Hey parents, we need drivers if you want to join us!

Elevate Summer 2018:  Elevate is outside! This is a great opportunity to invite new friends to your student ministry, so take advantage of it. We have swimming, snacks, a message and worship, so come out and don’t forget your Bible, a modest one-piece swimsuit and a towel. Host Homes for Jr. High - Tuesdays at the Thayer Home located at 23034 Birch Glen Circle, Valencia. Sr. High - Wednesdays at the Plew Home located at 25105 High Spring Ave., Newhall.

NEXGEN MINISTRY - Birth to 6th Grade

VBS:  Join us for a fun-filled week of connecting with God’s word through the story of Daniel. Kids entering 1st grade through entering 7th grade are invited to Vacation Bible School. VBS runs 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from July 9-13. The cost is $12 per child and you can register through Sunday, July 1st at www.lifeatcrossroads.info. After June 25th, the cost will be $17 per child.

VBS Volunteers:  Please help us lead children in a fun-filled week of connecting with God’s word through the story of Daniel. We need volunteers in a variety of areas. Hope Gardens is located just a few miles away and is a housing facility and haven to women and children experiencing homelessness. We will be sending a team to Hope Gardens from July 23-26 to put on a Vacation Bible School for the children and a Women's Conference for the ladies living there, along with serving in other ways they may need. If you would like to be a part of this team or would like more information, please email go@lifeatcrossroads.org.

Summer Sports Camp at TMU:  The Master's University has opened registration for its annual summer sports camps. Master’s will offer basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball camps at various dates throughout June and July. Led by TMU’s elite coaching staff, the camps provide opportunities for boys and girls ages 6-14 (9-18 for volleyball) to improve their skills. Visit GoMustangs.com for more information.

Everyone over 18 who desires to be baptized must attend the Baptism Class on Sunday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. Details will be emailed to participants after they have registered. Cherish Marriage Conference:  We are excited to present the Cherish Marriage Conference for all who wish to enrich their marriage in fresh ways, regardless of how long you have been together. Come join Gary Thomas, bestselling author and international speaker, as he teaches on his newest book on marriage, Cherish.

The conference will be Friday night and Saturday, September 7-8 and run from 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, and from 8:30 am to 12 pm on Saturday, September 8. Bridge to Home Easter Donation:  Thanks to the generous donations from our Easter service, Bridge to Home received a total of $8,844.00. These funds went directly to providing for the people experiencing homelessness in the Santa Clarita Valley. This season, they provided overnight shelter and meals for 130 nights. They also served 168 people, including 14 veterans, 62 with a disability and extended periods of homelessness, and 43 with physical or mental disabilities. And 11 people were moved into stable housing.

SCV Pregnancy Center Care Offering: This Sunday, May 20, we will be taking a Care Offering for the Santa Clarita Valley Pregnancy Center. Following Jesus Class:  This summer, we will be offering a study on excelling in the Christian life, led by Pastor Jeff Benda. They will be meeting on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning, depending on the availability of the attendees. It will be kicking off on Tuesday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 16 for the next 11 weeks. Short-Term Missions Trip to Hope Gardens:  We are excited to present a short-term missions trip this summer to Hope Gardens in Sylmar, CA. Hope Gardens, few miles away, is a housing facility and haven for women and children experiencing homelessness. We will be sending a team to Hope Gardens from July 23-26 to put on a Vacation Bible School for the children and a Women's Conference for the ladies living there, along with serving in other ways they may need. We are honored to highlight the ministry of AWANA Lifeline for the month of April. Awana Lifeline ministries are in over 30 states and five countries and host their gospel-centered programs in the county, state, federal, and private detention centers. One of their programs is called Malachi Dads and led right here at Pitchess Detention Center by Crossroads member, John Reed. The purpose of Malachi Dads is to host bible studies to the men there, showing them what it means to be in a relationship with God and how to be a godly parent. We are excited to host AWANA Lifeline and speaker Troy Delone, a former inmate, to come and present their ministry on Sunday, April 29. Proof That Jesus is the Lamb of God

If someone asked you why you believe that Jesus is the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world, what would you say?

Certainly, there are many ways to show that Jesus was no ordinary man.  This would include his miracles, his teaching, what others said about him, his ability to forgive sin, and his resurrection. All of these are appropriate, but something hit me today as I was reflecting on Matt. 27:12-14 which says,

“But when the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him, Jesus remained silent. ‘Don’t you hear all these charges they are bringing against you?’ Pilate demanded. But Jesus made no responseto any of the charges, much to the governor’s surprise.”

How does the silence of Jesus to the charges against him show he was the Lamb of God? Jesus is living out what was foretold in Isaiah 53:7 which says,

“He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.”

The silence of Jesus proves He was the Lamb of God who suffered for you and me according to Is. 53.  Spurgeon says it this way, “By his quiet he conclusively proved himself to be the true Lamb of God.” When you and I would have been screaming about injustice and defending ourselves in an attempt to protect our lives, Jesus was completely silent so that he could die to save our lives.

As Spurgeon goes on to say, “Never man spake like this man, and never man was silent like him.” His quiet strength in the midst of cruelty and injustice shows that he was the suffering servant of Isaiah 53 and the true Lamb of God who died for you and me to take away the sin of the world!’

Father, thank you again for your amazing grace. How you could allow your Son to suffer without complaint on my behalf is beyond my ability to comprehend. Thank you for your love, patience, compassion, and grace. Thank you for allowing Jesus to die for me as the true Lamb of God.

Believers Baptism

Have you committed your life to Christ but never taken the step of baptism? We want to invite you to join us during all three morning services on Sunday, April 15, for the Believer's Baptism. Blanket Blessings is a Crossroads ministry led by Megan Fick and her heart to reach out to local and global communities through this mercy ministry. Megan and other volunteers tie blankets to be given to those in need locally, at public high schools, and to send with our missions’ teams to our partners around the world. They meet monthly on Thursday, and if you are interested in becoming a part of this ministry, please email go@lifeatcrossroads.org.

Elevate Surf Club: Third Saturday in March, $5 – Surf Club is for students who can surf or who want to learn. We meet outside the church office at 8:00 a.m. We check the surf report, and then head out to the beach with the gnarliest waves! You need to bring $5, a wetsuit, a board, and money for food. If you don’t have a board, we have a few to lend. Surf Club usually returns around 6:30 p.m. Hey parents, we need drivers if you want to join us!

Men, our third annual Man Up Conference is coming! Our special guest speaker is Brad Bell. Brad is a former college athlete and is the Lead Pastor of The Well Community Church in Fresno, which has grown into a multi-site church.  He loves interacting with men and will be calling us up to live out our biblical manhood in our relationships.

The conference kicks off at 6:15 p.m. on Friday night, March 16, with a steak dinner. Come back the following morning, March 17, from 7:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., for brunch and a message from Brad Bell. The class focuses on understanding God’s design for marriage and includes a time of teaching and small group interaction. Our February Global Partner Spotlight is on Tim and Julie Palamootil who serve in South Asia. Tim and Julie’s main ministry comes in the form of an orphanage to help underprivileged children. Their goal is not only to provide physical nourishment but spiritual nourishment as well. Tim also spends time teaching the Bible at the local Christian high school they partner with. Please pray for their safety and as they seek to raise the children to know God.

Missions Class

We are excited to announce our first short-term missions training! This training is for anyone interested in attending a Crossroads missions trip or those who want to gain a deeper knowledge of missions. This training is comprised of three classes on Sunday, February 25, March 11, and March 18. They will be from 11 am-1:30 pm in our Adult Classroom. We are very excited to explore the theology of missions, help give practical tools, and have some of our past, long-term missionaries come and speak! Work as Worship

On February 23, join thousands of business leaders across the country for a full one day retreat to hear from experts, be encouraged, and discuss how to connect your faith and work! We will be holding the Work as Worship video simulcast from 6:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. here at Crossroads. The Work as Worship Retreat will include speaking from some great teachers and business leaders, including Pastor Matt Chandler, Joel Manby, CEO of Seaworld, and Patrick Lencioni, the New York Times Best-Selling Author. We have a committed team of law enforcement and medical professionals who faithfully volunteer their time and talents each week. As our church grows, our team needs to grow as well. ELEVATE MINISTRY - Jr. High and High School

Elevate Surf Club: Third Saturday in January, $5 – Surf Club is for students who can surf or who want to learn. We meet outside the church office at 8:00 a.m. We check the surf report, and then head out to the beach with the gnarliest waves! You need to bring $5, a wetsuit, a board, and money for food. If you don’t have a board, we have a few to lend. Surf Club usually returns around 6:30 p.m. Hey parents, we need drivers if you want to join us!

Man Up Conference

Men, our third annual Man Up Conference is coming! Our special guest speaker is Brad Bell. Brad is a former college athlete and is the Lead Pastor of The Well Community Church in Fresno, which has grown into a multi-site church.  He loves interacting with men and will be calling us up to live out our biblical manhood in our relationships.

The conference kicks off at 6:15 p.m. on Friday night, March 16, with a steak dinner. Come back the following morning, March 17, from 7:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., for brunch and a message from Brad Bell. Work as Worship

On February 23, join thousands of business leaders across the country for a full one day retreat to hear from experts, be encouraged, and discuss how to connect your faith and work! We will be holding the Work as Worship video simulcast from 6:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. here at Crossroads. The Work as Worship Retreat will include speaking from some great teachers and business leaders, including Pastor Matt Chandler, Joel Manby, CEO of Seaworld, and Patrick Lencioni, the New York Times Best-Selling Author. Breakfast starts at 6:30 a.m. and at 7:00 a.m. the welcome and intro to the conference will start. Lunch is also provided. The cost is $25 for the retreat. Register today at lifeatcrossroads.info!

COLLEGE MINISTRY

A Bible study for College-Aged Students, called Oxford Fellowship, will meet Sundays starting February 11th, 6-8:30 p.m. in The Loft at Crossroads Community Church. February Go Partner

Our February Global Partner Spotlight is on Tim and Julie Palamootil who serve in South Asia. Tim and Julie’s main ministry comes in the form of an orphanage to help underprivileged children. Their goal is not only to provide physical nourishment but spiritual nourishment as well. Tim also spends time teaching the Bible at the local Christian high school they partner with. Please pray for their safety and as they seek to raise the children to know God.
