What is "The Wilderness"?

We are standing at the edge of the next chapter of Crossroads. For the last 10 years, we have watched God do earth-shaking things for our crazy church family. God is about to do it once again as this new chapter opens for Crossroads.

Prior to our move to our new church home on Rye Canyon, God is going to take us into the wilderness, just like he did with the Israelites prior to their entrance into the Promised Land. Like the Israelites, there is no turning back. Our only way now is forward. We cannot pause to ponder, as we must pray and plow forward. The Lord had this same expectation of the

Israelites when He said in Exodus 14:15, “The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.”

The great adventure is about to begin. During this time, we must be prepared to receive and learn all that God has in store for us, first in the wilderness and then in our new home.

As we prepare to enter our new home, we are leaving our main campus at the end of June and enter a short period that we are calling our “Wilderness Journey.” Here are important dates to remember:

→ June 25: Last Sunday for Worship Services @ Main & West Campus

→ July 1: Volunteer Service Run Through at Savia 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

→ July 2: Worship Services @ Savia Community Center 23780 Newhall Avenue, 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The journey is always more important than the destination. The Israelites made the journey together as a people, and we will do the same as a family. Church is not a building; it is a family, and the significant construction happens as we are built up in Christ together. I personally invite you on this journey and confidently believe that our wilderness days will be of great importance to the life of our church family.

Forward Together, Pastor Todd
