GO Partner Highlight

Lifeline Global Ministries

Lifeline Global works to teach and shepherd incarcerated men and women into becoming the godly parents they are meant to be through the transforming power of the gospel. This past year, they have been able to open doors at new prisons and jails and work with local Chaplains across the country to lead classes in these new facilities. Lessons are being made available digitally on inmate tablets so that they have access to both the written lessons as well as teaching videos. The next step is to have these teaching videos translated in Spanish and other languages to reach more inmates. Please lift up Lifeline Global in prayer that God will continue to open more doors to bring the gospel as they grow worldwide. Pray that Lifeline Global continues to make a difference in the LA County jails with men and women hearing the gospel and growing in faith.

Pastoral Blog: Greg Clark

We introduced Christ Our Hope In Life And Death to our congregation last year and it has quickly become one of my favorite songs to lead. The foundational truth, that Christ is our inexhaustible source of hope is a promise that I need to be reminded of daily.  There is a lyric in this song that impacts me every time we sing it: “What truth can calm the troubled soul?”

Every soul knows this feeling of unease and angst. If we are honest with ourselves we can often feel this trouble many times a day. It can overtake us from something as simple as trying to meet a deadline to something as difficult as the illness of a loved one.  Our soul is easily and often troubled. So what is this truth that can calm this easily troubled soul of ours?

“God is good.” Three words: God. Is. Good. The reality that we have a Father, a kind and loving Father, who is in total and loving control of all things; from the weather to elections, is the calming balm that a troubled soul requires. We see His grace, goodness, and abundant love for you, in the reality that He would give up His only Son in order to redeem you, and bring you into His family. A troubled soul will go to great lengths to find peace. A troubled soul could exhaust many avenues of sin or toil endlessly in an attempt to find lasting rest, but it is only found in the truth and the power of the Gospel. So run to the Gospel, remind yourself of truth, there you will find calm for your troubled soul.
